DOLL PARTY
A collaboration with Hillary Waters-Fayle, Students in VCU Craft and Materials Studies, and dozens of our dear friends.
Basically, we just wanted to have a party.
But, COVID.
So we worked with Supporting Artist Hillary Waters-Fayle and her students in VCU’s department of Craft and Material Studies to create hand-dyed, hand-sewn “blank” dolls, and invited our creative community to personalize these “doll-pelgangers” as a way of coming together while remaining apart and reflecting on our COVID-era avatars.
Artists went far beyond the prompt to create stunning soft sculptures. These pieces visited with businesses and nonprofits around the city for a week leading up to an Auction/Party that raised funds to support Milk River Arts.
